i haven’t made any fruit leathers yet because they’re more labour intensive and we only have one fruit leather tray vs 5 regular dehydrating trays. i feel like you get less bang for your buck when you do leathers, but who knows… we only do fruit when it’s on super super sale (1lb peaches for $1 at no frills last weekend!) and when we don’t want to turn the heat up. have you tried doing fruit leather in the oven?
plus i have a feeling that having the dehydrator on for 9 hours (that’s how long it took to do the peaches and they’re still moist on the inside, could have used another 2 hours) significantly raises our electric bills. i already feel guilty for doing the mangoes last night because today i have to write the landlord and tell him i can’t pay march’s rent on time (wah wah wah).
YOU should send ME something! cmon haven’t i sent enough lil care packages?puhleeeeze!!?!?!!! *bats skimpy asian eyelashes*
kitty photo shoot. so…i adopted two kittens from toronto cat rescue over the weekend. i’ve been waiting to adopt an animal for the longest longest time and i thought about it pretty much everyday all day. and when i found out they were brothers, i couldn’t separate them. they are so full of love and light. they play together, eat together, pee/poop together, sleep on each other, clean each other, cuddle…it’s ridiculous. they have very different personalities that i’m still learning about and are always emerging, but they both will sleep on anything warm (lap top charger) and everything is a toy to play with. the one with the yellow band was formally known as, banjo. and his brother (who is a bit bigger but you can’t tell cause they look identical) is rupert. i changed their names. the one that is more into humans that will cuddle with me is Magic (yellow band) and the more careful, cautious one that is slowly warming up is Qi (prounced chi). Qi follows everything Magic does. unfortunately, they have kitten sneezes since Saturday. i’m not sure why. at first i thought they were getting used to the smells in the apartment, but they are still sneezing quite a bit and have some watery eyes. so like, we all have colds together :S. but i think they are going to go to the vet to see what’s up when the rescue place calls me back because i think they pay for it? anyways, i’m kind of worried about their little colds and i tried to vacuum so much. but they are so scared of the vacuum! they run under the couch and sleep for a long time….haha #catmommyproblems. ah, the joy that these creatures bring.
SO EXCITED FOR YOU!
i want to be at home with the mao right now.
